Florastor helped restore my health.
I was taking a strong antibiotic called Augmentin for an eye infection. Well, it killed the "good" bacteria in my gut and contributed to a severe intestinal infection called c. difficile, which is potentially fatal. Thankfully, my physician recognized what was happening, put me on another medication and recommended probiotics.I did some research and found Florastor and another product called Culturelle. Have been taking both for two weeks and feel better than I've felt in years. The GI infection is gone, I have more energy, and am now as regular as a 23-yr. old.Florastor is great product. brought me back to normal
After taking antibiotics, I developed a nasty gut infection that kept coming back after repeated treatments from my doctor (the treatment was HORRIBLE). I finally read about Florastor and decided to start taking it immediately when my symptoms started returning for a 3rd time. I took 2 a day as recommended, and within 2 days I was feeling better, within 1 week I no longer had symptoms. I kept taking it for 2 months just o be sure. I'm now good as new. I will never take antibiotics again without taking Florastor at the same time. It just saves so much pain.

Good, but not the best.
I have IBS & intestinal malabsorption issues stemming from SIBO [small intestinal bacterial overgrowth] and must supplement with highly effective probiotics to restore appropriate flora balances.I have found Florastor to be effective -- much more so than what I purchased from my local health food store, Whole Foods, and our buying club/coop -- BUT it is not the most powerful probiotic out there. For me, VSL#3 is hands-down the most effective probiotic available, and it's what I depend on to regain balance.That said, Florastor is leaps and bounds beyond most probiotics available, and it is substantially less expensive than VSL#3 -- which should only be used under supervision of a physician and is considered a "medical food" to treat everything from IBS to SIBO to even Crohn's and ulcerative colitis -- so I think Florastor is a very good option for most people.Minor con: the company that shipped this did so in somewhat sub-par packaging and the bottle...

A must have!
My son suffered from daily stomach pains due to his medications to treat ADHD and anxiety. Within 3 days of starting the Florastor the stomach aches have stopped completely. I can't beleive it was as simple as taking Florastor to give this child relief from something that had caused problems for him for over a year. Cured my chronic GERD (acid reflux)
I suffered from chronic life-changing acid reflux and this was the only thing that helped. My primary care physician put me on maximum, prescription strength Prilosec, didn't work. My allergist tried other prescriptions, didn't work. My Gastroenterologist tried yet another presecription, and wanted to do stomach surgery.Out of desperation I began trying probiotics. Within just a few days my heartburn was completely gone. I've been taking Florastor daily for almost a year now, and feel great.I've read up on this a lot, and I have some theories but no scientific proof. I believe that Candida and bacterial imbalances my have been the problem, and Florastor basically rebalanced my intestinal flora. Regardless, I'm a huge fan.

Lots of documentation -- Harvard, Johns Hopkins, etc. -- that s. boulardii assists with c. difficile-related diarrhea. See Harvard's on-line research briefs. It helped my daughter tremendously!

Less expensive than the stores
This probiotic is rather expensive, so when there is a sale on-line I try to stock up.Most probiotics kill the bad bacteria, so the good bacteria will multiply. This probiotic adds good bacteria to your gut. For those with a dysfunctional system this product really helps.
